Throughout the month of November, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is conducting an online survey to identify traffic safety concerns and obtain feedback from the public regarding their everyday interactions with troopers.

The survey is open now through November 30th.

The 2026 Public Survey, which is anonymous and takes approximately five minutes to complete, will be used to identify potential traffic safety issues and assess the quality of service that troopers provide.

To access the survey, watch for it in your email or go to the State Highway Patrol’s website.

A Sandusky road closure…

A portion of the 100 block of Columbus Avenue in front of the Sandusky State Theatre will be closed today from 7 am to approximately 12:00 pm.

The closure is necessary to allow contractors working on the State Theatre renovation project to use a crane to lift equipment onto the roof of the building.

Barricades and traffic control signage will be in place during the closure.

Temporary no parking signs have also been posted in the area.

A temporary power outage will affect 1,800 electric customers in New London next month.

The Norwalk Reflector says that Firelands Electric Co-op customers will lose power on December 5th at 4:00 am for about six hours for transmission upgrades.

On November 10th, Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio and BGSU Firelands are teaming up again to provide 450 Thanksgiving meals to Erie County residents.

The event runs from 4 to 5:30 pm at BGSU Firelands in Huron.

Other distributions are being held at Willard Parks and Recreation on November 17th, Lorain County Community College on November 21st and Galion Schools on November 23rd for residents in those areas.
