Kenny Rogers says he's "thrilled" that his new CD, "Kenny Rogers 50 Years", is now on sale exclusively at Cracker Barrel stores. The CD includes three new songs -- "She'll Believe in You", "Something's Wrong In Vegas" and "Only Time Will Tell" -- along with some of Kenny's popular favorites including "The Gambler" and "Lucille". Kenny says, "For me, the whole goal is to stay relevant as long as I can". And over the past few years, Cracker Barrel has released exclusive CDs featuring Alison Krauss, Josh Turner, Amy Grant, Sara Evans, and Charlie Daniels.
On her way home to Oklahoma from a three-day, 60-mile walk to benefit the Susan G. Komen breast cancer research fund, passengers heard a disturbing noise... "a loud pop". What she said sounded "almost like a gunshot" was in fact the cracking of the front left window of the plane at 30,000 feet. Trisha says, "The flight attendant came back and told us to remain calm. That's when we saw the two pilots with the oxygen masks on. Hearing them breathe like Darth Vader made it a little harder to stay calm." Though the crack in the window became larger and larger, the pilots made an emergency landing in Baltimore before the break had a chance to affect control of the plane. Yearwood says the plane "never lost cabin pressure, so we didn't have to use our oxygen masks. I can't imagine what might have happened if that window had shattered at 30,000 feet!"
Martina McBride says she's back in the studio and making major progress on her new album. She writes on her MySpace page that she sang a bunch of vocals and "It's really coming along." She says "Feels like we are making real progress and actually getting a few songs finished!" She's also getting more songwriting experience, adding it's fun dipping her toes into the water. But she adds, "Of course I am not silly enough to think everything I write will end up on the record!"
